Patrick Wiedemann is a partner at Peterreins Schley. He represents national and international clients before the European Patent Office including the Boards of Appeal, the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court. As a European and German Patent attorney, he represents his clients in opposition and appeal cases and comprehensively advises in freedom to operate projects. Patrick Wiedemann also handles and supervises patent mining, patent drafting and prosecution work, and manages international patent portfolios including, inter alia, European, US, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, and Australian applications. Patrick Wiedemann also provides legal advice concerning validity and the enforcement of industrial property rights.

Due to his very diversified mechanical engineering studies, with supplementary classes and activities in medical engineering, biotechnology and bioinformatics, Patrick Wiedemann’s technical area of expertise is very broad. His principal subjects were automotive engineering and production processes.

From 2011 to 2015 Patrick Wiedemann worked as associate at the German office of Fish & Richardson P.C. where he also gained his legal training as German and European Patent Attorney and obtained a close understanding for issues relating to US patent law. Prior to his work in the fields of IP he worked for ZF Friedrichshafen AG (2009-2010) gaining experience inter alia in production management as well as strategic corporate development. During this time he spent four months in South-East Asia leading a project relating to customer satisfaction. Among other studies and internships, he studied one semester at Queensland University of Technology (Australia).

  • Part of team representing a client before the German Federal Patent Court and the District Court Dusseldorf in the fields of cases for utility articles. Case settled.
  • Regularly representing clients in EPO opposition and appeal matters in various fields including web guiding technology, aircraft interior design and razors.
