German Patent Attorney
German Patent and Trademark Attorney, 2025
Dr. Macha is a patent attorney at the firm Peterreins Schley. He primarily works in the fields of telecommunications, electrical and information technology, physics, and also has experience in mechanical engineering. In addition to securing intellectual property rights before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office, he is particularly involved in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, as well as in national and international infringement and nullity proceedings.
Prior to joining Peterreins Schley, he completed his training as a patent attorney at a well-known IP boutique in Munich. There, he was entrusted with developing technical arguments in national infringement, nullity, and nullity appeal proceedings concerning standard-essential telecommunication patents, where he was able to apply both his physics and mathematics expertise. With the beginning of the UPC era, he was also involved in one of the first cases before the Unified Patent Court.
Dr. Macha studied physics at the Technical University of Munich, focusing on theoretical high-energy physics, cosmology, and string field theory. During his doctorate, funded by scholarships and conducted at the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Regensburg, he worked on developing a mechanism to explain the matter-antimatter asymmetry observed in the universe, within the framework of the Theory of Causal Fermion Systems. His scientific work took him to research institutions in Israel, Italy, and Australia.
